7 Tips To Make Soft Rotis

Cooking is an art and with practice, everyone can make delicious dishes. For the people who have just started their cooking, it would be a difficult task to make rotis, isn’t it? But my dear readers. Don’t worry. Follow some simple tips and make soft rotis. Here are the tips

The first step of making chapati is kneading dough. Use warm water for kneading the dough and make sure that the dough is not sticky but squidy. Before making the rotis, rest the dough for some time.

When you start making rotis, just knead the dough once again. During the resting period, the dough may have stiffened and kneading again will make it pliable. Even, while rolling and cooking rotis, keep the dough covered with a wet cloth.

Before making rotis, grease your rolling pin and board. This will help prevent the roti from sticking to both and thereby you can use little dry flour. Using more dry flour can harden the roti while cooking.

Most of the people think that the rotis will be softer if they are made thin. But, it’s not true. The thinner the roti, it will become paper like and so make sure that you won’t roll the roti either too thick or too thin.

First cook chapatis on non-stick tawa and cook until it forms bubbles on both the sides, later place the roti directly on the the flame to puff up. Just note that don’t hold the roti for too long on the tawa or the flame, just for a few minutes until it’s cooked.

Always preheat the tawa, lesser the cooking time, the softer your chapati will be.

Before tossing the roti on to the tawa, dust off the excess flour as it will make your chapati dry and not soft.
